3 Reasons Why Cremation Is A Good Option

Cherly Fox

If your loved one didn't specify whether or not they would like to be buried or cremated before they passed away, then you have a big decision to make. The option of cremation is a very respectable one, and it has many benefits that come along with it. This article will discuss 3 reasons why cremation can be a good option.

You Can Spread The Ashes In A Place That Was Special To Your Loved One

If your loved one had a place where they spent a lot of their time, a placed they loved, or any place that was especially important or special to them, then this is a great location to spread their ashes. You can have friends and family meet at this location for the funeral service. You can talk about what this location meant to your loved one and how each time that any of you come to that particular location, you will all be able to remember them and feel that they are there. This is something that is very symbolic and is a wonderful tribute to your loved one.

It Saves Land Space

While cemeteries are great locations to pay respect to our loved ones, the only downside is that they take up a lot of space. If you live in an area where land space is scarce, or if you think that your loved one would've like the idea of saving land space, then cremation is a wonderful option. The ashes can be spread anywhere and won't need to be housed in a casket in the ground. You can spread some of your loved one's ashes on the land, and then save the rest of them in a beautiful urn to pay tribute to them.

It Is A Much More Affordable Option

If you don't have a lot of money, and if your loved one passed away without any money set aside for their funeral service and burial, then cremation may be the only option that you can realistically afford. An average funeral cost about $6,500, but a cremation generally only costs about 1/3 of that.  You won't have to pay the cost for renting out a funeral home for the viewing or the funeral, and you also won't have to pay for a casket or for a piece of land within the cemetery. Cremation will allow you to still have a memorable and beautiful funeral service for your loved one without the worry of how you are going to be able to afford it.  For more information about cremation, contact a funeral home such as Frederick Brothers Funeral Home Inc - Main Ofc

Planning A Beautiful Service

When my mom passed away, my dad and I were charged with the task of planning a funeral that everyone would love. Unfortunately, this would prove to be a difficult task, since many of my mom's relatives didn't speak English. We mulled over what to do, and we decided to meet with the funeral director for a few tips. He told us a few ideas for how to make the experience easy for everyone to understand, and we implemented his suggestions. It was incredible how much easier it made things on the day of the funeral. Read here for more funeral arrangement tips so that you aren't left stressing about more than you need to.
